West African leaders rejected presidential term limits for the west African region.

Yesterday, west African leaders rejected presidential term limits

Ghana's Foreign Minister Hannah Tetteh told Reuters that Togo and Gambia, which do not have constitutionally-mandated presidential term limits, were opposed to the idea.

However, Hon. Hannah Tetteh did not explain how the position of the two countries became the majority decision for the 15 countries of the ECOWAS region.

How would you have voted? Do you think national referendums on the term limit proposal would have yielded consensus for instituting presidential term limits in the region?
