Armed robbery,rape hunters gang arrested in lagos.
Two members of a notorious armed robbery gang that specialises in raping and video recording their victims have been arrested in Lagos.
The suspects – Joseph Barise (24) and Christopher Anafiok (27) were arrested by policemen attached to the Ajah police station after they attempted to extort one Mrs. Isola, a trader around the Ikota Housing Estate.
The woman’s scream, it was learnt attracted bystanders who accosted them and found a locally made gun on Barise.
An angry mob that soon gathered reportedly tried to lynch the suspects but for the intervention of policemen who were on patrol.
The Nation gathered that another locally made gun and 16 live cartridges, charms and red candles were found in their residence during a police search.
A police source, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said the duo were cooling off at the Ajah police station and had confessed that they bought two motorcycles and a tricycle from robbery proceeds.
According to him, the suspects admitted during interrogation that they have been robbing for years.
“Video footages of secondary school girls they usually kidnapped and raped were stored in their phones,” the source added.
The suspects reportedly confessed that they were members of a five-man gang headed by one Anthony Aniote.
