In Dublin housing estate young man was shot.

A man has been shot in a housing estate in Dublin on Friday night. 

The incident occurred at Shancastle Park in Clondalkin at just after 11pm.

The extent of his injuries are unclear but he was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital for treatment.

Gardaí and emergency services responded. Dublin Fire brigade dispatched advanced paramedics who treated the victim at the scene before bringing him to hospital.

The victim is described as being a young man.
